Denia is only a 20 minute drive from Casa Ricardo and a wonderful to to visit. The main ferry port is here where you can take a boat over to the Balearic Islands. The port itself holds a large selection of boats, yachts and ferries and nice to walk along. To the north of the port is a large beach. Denia Castle is a short walk from the old town, there is a cafe at the top and although the castle itself is a small ruin, it does have wonderful views across the coastline. The walk to the top is on cobbled stone so wheelchair and pushchair access have to be taken by an alternative road.

Our favourite part of the day was wondering the streets in the old town with its many bars and cafes. Dénia, has been awarded the 'City of Gastronomy' here you can taste the best seafood and Valencian fruit and vegetable products. Dishes such as the famous red prawn of Dénia, or the exceptional “arròs a banda” (seafood paella), among other culinary specialties which blend tradition and quality. These succulent dishes can be sampled in over 300 restaurants in the city, which prepare the most varied recipes of the local, national and international cuisine.
