If you want to visit a beautiful, traditional village is definitely the place to go, its calm sleepy charming square and bars a are haven for relaxing with a coffee and strolling through the quaint streets out to the mountains and vineyards. You would think that nothing much ever happened here...... BUT for 10 days in August Lliber comes ALIVE.

I actually have no idea where all the people came from.... everyone comes out on the streets to celebrate the summer fiestas, people who were born in Lliber and have moved onto bigger cities return to meet with family and friends to eat, dance, dress up and honour the village saints.

This really is a family affair, but we were made to feel very welcome amongst the locals. With children's parades, water parks and even a giant water fight, children were very much catered for. For the adults live bands played until the early hours of the morning and no expense was spared, with quality light shows and live music on stage every night for a week, this was like a music festival amongst the backdrop of a traditional Spanish pueblo.

The main road through the town was closed for the entire 10 days and every evening the streets were filled with local marching bands, parades of people in traditional dress and tables of families eating either from the bars or straight outside the front of their houses.

Each day is a different party. As well as the traditional parades, giant paellas, bull running and religious ceremonies

you can also experience the children's parade where people dress up on floats throwing sweets to the children; a water park arrives with a foam party in one of the squares and a giant water fight where massive tankers of water arrive and the WHOLE village partake in the fun event. Every evening live bands play in the square until the early hours of the morning, and the bars serve food and BBQ. The are fireworks displays and light shows.

We already have most of August booked for next year but there are some dates still available.
